Isa, do you remember when we made
love for the first time?
You left a note on my window
to the outside world, that read:
"The world is full of orange balls
of fire, bottles of wine for the brain,
plenty of syrup for bad colds,
and, ginger for upset stomachs.
I had dreams about giant seedless oranges,
fantasized about peace,
mimicked a swan dance,
drank plenty of red wine,
and fell asleep on the blue couch.
I woke up startled,
a throbbing headache,
and a sticky note on my forehead.
It read: "The world has gone you by Bye"
